Rights of the People
Empowering Communities Through Legal Education

Serving Los Angeles with Multilingual Workshops
Rights of the People (ROTP) is a nonprofit public benefit corporation dedicated to increasing legal literacy among minority, working poor, immigrant, and underserved communities throughout Los Angeles County. Founded in August 2025, our organization focuses on providing accessible, multilingual educational programs tailored to the unique needs of diverse populations, including Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and Filipino speakers.
Our mission is to enhance access to justice by equipping residents with the knowledge they need to understand their legal rights and navigate complex systems. Through culturally relevant workshops and community partnerships, we strive to reduce barriers caused by language, cost, and lack of awareness, ensuring equitable access to legal services for all.
Know Your Rights, Protect Your Future
We deliver comprehensive legal rights educational programs through interactive workshops designed to address critical issues affecting our communities. Our multilingual approach ensures that participants receive information in their native languages, empowering them with practical knowledge to protect themselves and their families.
Tenant Rights Workshops
Understand your rights as a renter, learn about eviction protections, lease agreements, and how to advocate for safe and fair housing.
Workers’ Rights Education
Learn about workplace protections, wage laws, discrimination policies, and how to seek remedies for unfair labor practices.
Immigration Pathways Seminars
Access up-to-date information on legal immigration options, documentation processes, and resources to support immigrant families.
Consumer Protection Sessions
Gain awareness of your rights related to fraud, debt collection, contracts, and how to resolve disputes effectively.
